What is a Novel Pairing?

It’s the perfect marriage of a great book and an equally delightful wine.

Each month comes with three things: a book pick, a wine recommendation chosen to complement it, and a playlist to read by. Members join a virtual book club discussion, get early access to in-person events throughout the year, and belong to a community that takes the "what should I read and drink next?" decision completely off your plate.

Our in-person and virtual events go further, from social vineyard gatherings and silent reading sessions to wine workshops and author programming. Members get early access, discounted tickets, and something new to look forward to throughout the year.

About the founder

Built by someone who actually knows wine, loves reading and building community.

Erin Kirschenmann launched Novel Pairings because she believes the best reading experiences happen with a good glass in hand and with people who actually want to be there.

Her everyday wine is a $6.49 Gruner Veltliner from Trader Joe's. Her most-recommended book is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, the first one she and her grandfather read together.

She also happens to be Managing Editor of Wine Business Monthly for over a decade, holds a DipWSET, a wine certification at the master's level, and is a wine instructor at Napa Valley Wine Academy.

She speaks regularly at major industry conferences and was named to Beverage Dynamics' 40 Under Forty in 2025. The expertise informs every pairing.
