Novel Pairings is heading to Coursey Graves Winery for an afternoon of wine, wrapped books, and a little bit of mystery. Taste your way through a flight of their wines to find your genre, build a blind date with a book to keep or gift, then stay as long as you'd like! There's a book swap, food, and a view of Sonoma Valley that truly can’t be beat.

WHAT TO EXPECT
You'll start at the bar for a flight of Coursey Graves wines: each one corresponds to a popular genre. Love the Chardonnay? That's historical fiction. Drawn to the Sonoma Coast Pinot? Romantasy. The Syrah leans contemporary fiction, and the '22 Napa Cab is your thriller. Let your palate pick your plot: Choose your blind date with a book genre based on your favorite wine—or skip it entirely and grab the book you already know you want! It's your afternoon.
From there, build your blind date: choose your wrapped book, add a bookmark, a sticker, a little tea or cocoa and some of our other trinkets. Every book is new, hand-picked by Novel Pairings, and comes with its own wine pairing card, so you'll know exactly what to pour when you finally unwrap it. Want the official pairing? Coursey Graves will have bottles for sale to accompany your blind date.
When you're done building, there's nowhere you need to be. Grab a glass, grab a plate, and settle in. Swap a book you're ready to part with for something new-to-you, sit down at a table with reader-core games and cards, or just enjoy the view. If it rains, Coursey Graves has an indoor plan ready to go.
Everything after the tasting is entirely optional. You can spend the whole afternoon building, swapping, talking, or a little of all three.

Every event is structured so you don't have to do any social heavy lifting to have a good time. The trope seating, the games, the book swap…none of that is accidental. It's all there so you walk in solo and immediately have something to do, someone to talk to, and a reason to come back.
Members come from across the country. Most of our in-person attendees find out about us through a friend who went to a previous event and came home recommending it.
