The Novel Pairings Wine Club

Three to four bottles.
Once a quarter.

All chosen by someone who’s spent 15 years writing about wine.

Cancel anytime.

What this is:

Every quarter, I hand-select three to four wines to complement our current reads, not because they're easy to find, but because they're the right fit. Small producers. Family estates. The kind of bottles your local wine shop probably doesn't carry.

You don't have to do the research. You don't have to second-guess the label. You just open the box, open the book, and pour.

What's in the box?

Three bottles per quarter, occasionally four when something's just that good. Curated to complement the Novel Pairings selections and shipped directly to your door through our partner SocialSomm.

Shipping is included.

No surprise fees at checkout, no add-ons at the last step. Quarterly shipments run $110–$140, or roughly $30 a month for wines you couldn't easily find on your own.

Why small producers

Most wine clubs send you the same recognizable names you could grab at any grocery store. That's not what this is.

I've spent 15 years as a wine magazine editor, I teach wine courses, and I judge wine competitions internationally. That means I spend a lot of time tasting with importers, winemakers, and small distributors who move bottles you won't see on a shelf anywhere near you: a third-generation family in the Loire, a small-batch producer in Sonoma, a cooperative making something genuinely surprising in southern Italy.

The wine club is how I share that access with you. These are real discovery wines. The kind you tell someone about.

Wine Club vs. Membership:

What's the Difference?

The Novel Pairings membership is the full experience: monthly book and wine pairing recommendation, a curated playlist, access to our Discord, virtual book club, live events, and author programming. It's the conversation, the ritual, the community.

The wine club is the wine, physically, in your hands. It's open to anyone: you don't need to be a member to join.

That said, most wine club members are also Novel Pairings members, because having the actual bottle makes the quarterly pairing feel complete. You can join either one separately, or both together.

Hi, I’m Erin! A book lover, wine editor, and the person doing all the research so you don't have to.

I started Novel Pairings because I wanted my free time to feel like something, not like I was squeezing in one more obligation. The wine club exists for the same reason. You shouldn't have to spend an hour researching wine to enjoy a great glass while you read. That part is my job. Let me do it.

A Note From Erin:

This isn’t just a wine club. It’s a new way of finding fun. A ritual that’s yours.

  • Yes. You can skip a shipment or cancel anytime before the next billing cycle. No hoops, no guilt.

  • Nope! The wine club is open to everyone. That said, members get the full context behind each selection: the pairing notes, the playlist, the book club conversation. The wine lands differently when you know the story behind it.

  • Wine shipping laws in the U.S. are genuinely complicated. Each state has its own rules around how wine can be sold and shipped directly to consumers. Rather than navigate that alone (and pass those costs on to you), we partner with SocialSomm, a platform built specifically to handle wine club logistics, licensing, and compliance. It keeps your prices down and makes sure your wine actually arrives. Your selection, my curation, their infrastructure.

  • Selections are curated each quarter based on the current reading and what's showing best from the small producers I trust. You can add extra bottles to your shipment, but the core selection stays as chosen, picked from 15 years of tasting with importers, winemakers, and small distributors most people never get access to.

  • Contact us at hello@novelpairings.club and we'll make it right. Damaged shipments are handled through SocialSomm and we'll get a resolution sorted quickly.

  • The quarterly shipment is built around the Novel Pairings selections for that cycle so, yes! The idea is that you're reading along with the community and drinking the wine that was chosen to go with it. It's the full experience.
