No pressure.
Plot Twists & Pinot is a summer afternoon designed for people who love to read…or used to and want to start again.

No assigned reading. No pressure. Just a really good Sunday.
Why I designed this afternoon
Novel Pairings started because I love pairing what I'm reading to the perfect glass of wine and I wanted to share that feeling with others. I built this community to bring the book and wine lifestyle to life in a way that makes people feel special, welcome, and genuinely excited about both.
In less than a year, Novel Pairings has grown to more than 500 readers, wine lovers, and people who are happily somewhere in between. We've been hosting in-person events since October 2024, and I've seen firsthand what happens when you give the right people a comfortable space and a reason to connect.
Plot Twists & Pinot is the next step: a real afternoon, in a beautiful vineyard, thoughtfully designed so that everyone feels at home from the moment they arrive.
I'll be there all afternoon. Come find me.
A Whole Afternoon of Fun!
〰️
A Whole Afternoon of Fun! 〰️
Think less "book club meeting," more bookish brunch in a Sonoma vineyard. Here's how the afternoon flows. You can participate as much or as little as you'd like.
11:00 - 11:45 a.m.
Arrive &
Settle In
Welcome pour, book swap opens, browse vendors, find your footing.
11:45 - 12:15 p.m.
Trivia Round One
Trope-based seating groups. Meet your people. Questions are ridiculous in the best way.
12:15 - 1:30 p.m.
Games, Open Social Time
Games, lounging, brunch from the food truck, book swap, wine, conversation.
1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
Trivia Round 2 + Wind Down
New teams, new people. Then a relaxed vineyard social hour to close out the afternoon.
You can participate in everything. You can also find a good spot in the vineyard, enjoy a glass, and let the afternoon come to you. Both are completely valid. With 50–75 guests, it's intentionally small enough to feel comfortable, and big enough that you'll always have someone new to talk to.
Featured Experiences
Bookish Trivia
At check-in you'll get a trope assignment (think Enemies to Lovers, Morally Gray Men Non-Apologist, or Thriller Addict) and spend the first round with fellow readers who share your taste. Round two reshuffles for maximum people-meeting.
Wine or Romance?
Is it describing a Pinot Noir or the brooding love interest you can't stop thinking about?
"Velvety, seductive, and impossible to forget." "Brooding with dark cherry undertones."
It’s harder than you think, and somehow more fun for it.
Badly Explained Books
Famous novels, described in the most unhelpful way possible.
"Rich people ruin each other's lives near water." "Teenagers volunteer for trauma."
A great excuse to strike up a conversation with whoever's nearby.
Community Book Swap
Bring a book you loved. Leave with one you didn't know you needed. Browse, leave notes inside covers, make a recommendation, and chat with the person whose taste you're now slightly obsessed with.
Vineyard Lounge Areas
Comfortable seating scattered throughout the vineyard, with covered areas available. Your spot to decompress, finish a conversation, or simply enjoy a glass at your own pace.
Food & Drinks
Sangiacomo wine available for purchase all afternoon, plus a full selection of non-alcoholic options. A local food truck onsite serving brunch and snacks. Come hungry.
You’ll fit right in if…
You've been meaning to read more and keep starting new books anyway.
You love wine but would enjoy it more with a reason to be there.
You're coming solo and a little nervous, but kind of excited too.
You're bringing a friend and looking for something that actually sounds fun.
You've spent more time on BookTok than you'd like to admit.
You want to meet people, but "networking event" makes you want to cancel plans.
A NOTE FOR SOLO ATTENDEES
Coming alone?
Good.
A lot of people are. Our hosts personally facilitate introductions throughout the afternoon, and the trivia structure means you'll naturally meet people in your group without it ever feeling forced.
You won't be left to figure it out on your own.
The event is intentionally small, 50 to 75 guests, which means it never feels overwhelming, and real conversations actually happen.
THE VENUE
Sangiacomo Wines, Sonoma
Set in the heart of Sonoma wine country, Sangiacomo is the kind of place that makes a Sunday feel like a proper occasion.
Some places just have history you can feel. The Sangiacomo family has been farming since 1927, when Vittorio Sangiacomo, who arrived in America at 17 with $200 borrowed from his mother, purchased the Home Ranch in Sonoma Valley and put down roots that are still here today.
Three generations later, the family transitioned from one of California's largest pear growing operations to winegrapes, and today their sustainably farmed estate vineyards produce some of Sonoma's most acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The wines you'll be sipping on Sunday afternoon carry nearly a century of that story in every glass.
Plot Twists & Pinot takes place on the Home Ranch property, outside in the vineyard, with comfortable seating and covered areas throughout.
Wine will be available for purchase all afternoon, along with a full selection of non-alcoholic options. A local food truck will be onsite serving lunch and snacks. Find a spot you like and stay a while.
