Join Novel Pairings and Hope Family Wines for a restorative, slow-paced Silent Book Club in the heart of downtown Paso Robles. Bring whatever book you’re currently reading (a novel, memoir, fantasy epic, romance, thriller, or that half-finished stack on your nightstand) and settle in for a night of shared quiet and good wine.
This isn’t your typical book club.
There’s no assigned reading.
No forced discussion.
No pressure to perform.
Just a room full of readers, a glass of wine, and space to exhale.
Perfect for introverts, solo attendees, those who keep meaning to pick up a book but are distracted by life, and anyone craving a low-pressure night out that feels intentional, not loud.
Hosted by Erin of Novel Pairings, a WSET Diploma-certified wine educator who believes reading and wine are better when shared.
You’ll leave feeling rested, a little inspired, and reminded that reading doesn’t have to be solitary to be meaningful.
What is a Silent Book Club?
A Silent Book Club is exactly what it sounds like: we gather, we read quietly together, and we socialize if (and when) we want to.
The evening flows like this:
Arrive, grab a glass, and settle into one of Hope on Park’s lush, comfy indoor lounge spaces
Optional tasting to help you choose the perfect glass
A dedicated quiet reading session
A light, optional group share of our favorite lines
Time to mingle, swap books, or keep reading
You’ll feel like you gave yourself something rare: uninterrupted time with a story, a beautiful glass of wine, and a room full of people who love the same things you do.
Wine Pairings, Based on Your Book:
One of the most fun parts of the evening?
We’ll offer pairing suggestions inspired by the book you bring.
Reading a moody mystery? A bold red might be calling your name.
Something light and romantic? Maybe a bright, expressive white.
Hope Family Wines will have wines available to taste before you decide on your glass, so you can choose what feels right for your story and your mood.

Book Swap + Group Activity
Bring a gently loved book you’re ready to part with and swap it for a new-to-you read.
We’ll close the evening with an optional favorite-line share by simply reading a sentence that struck you. No explanation required.
